Hello guys,
I'm looking for a bit of advice. I bought a 1995 600 a while back. Bike was a non runner, no electrics and a rusty fuel tank. I sorted the electrics, turns out the multi relay was shot along with a few dodgy connections. Got the bike running but it was rough and not all the down pipes were heating up. It was also very smokey.
This is what I have done so far...
Changed the oil and filter
Stripped the carbs and found bank one was botched and the innards held together with sealant. I sourced another carb, stripped that, cleaned and fitted new o rings, needles and gaskets.
Fitted new air filter.
New inlet rubbers.
Put everything back together. Bike started no problem, sounded a little better but still smoked a bit. I'm hoping that's just moisture from it being stood for a while. Downpipes 1 and 3 are slow to warm up. I have swapped out plugs and also swapped out coils as I had spares from a previous build.
I'm just not sure which is the next step in diagnosing the cold down pipes. The bike looks like it has been looked after at some point, 27000 on the clock and apart from a rusty tank, the rest is in good nick.
Any help with what I could try would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Paul
