Hello all! I passed my A2 Licence this September and just picked up a 1992 XJ600 Divvy, recently recommissioned, with less than 10k original miles!
Unfortunately, as part of UK licencing laws, I'm required to fit an A2 Restrictor, which should bring the bike down to 47hp. While many people, "accidentally", ride away from the local garage with a certificate and a pocket full of the restrictor parts, I'm very much iffy on doing so, as the potential insurance, and thus legal, repercussions are quite extreme.
I'm interested to hear from others who have, or have ridden, restricted Diversion 600s. How does it ride? Any issues? Comparisons with an unrestricted example? My only worry is the bike would be turned into a sluggish mess, and ruin the experience of riding an otherwise pristine XJ.
