Hi guys!
This isn't gonna surprise you, I find my bike's braking power too weak.
I was doing a bit of research and I've figured out that actually it is possible to fit another Yamaha's front barke caliper on an XJ.
I know the Blue Dots won't fit (or the spokes interfare) but there are a lot of other options like FJ1200, TDM 850, FZR1000's caliper, and all of them are a 4 piston calipers.
Here comes the tricky part, and my question, How good is to fit an opposed piston brake caliper on a fix brake rotor? You can only see this setup with floating discs. I know the rear brake works like this, but that's only 2 pistons. I wonder if it's safe, I mean the disc is pushed from two sides and doesn't have a chance to move sideways a bit, maybe a possible disc cracking? Also it can pulse a lot more on the brake lever, and a lot more wobble chances.
Any idea would be appriciated,
Cheers.
