Tonight I started removing some of the plastic and checking out some of the old parts to figure out what will need replaced/repaired/modified.
I’ve also been trying to figure out what I want to do as far as lighting, etc goes with the cafe conversion.
It’s going to be slightly less traditional than what a lot of people have done, for instance, I don’t plan on a large, round, mono headlamp and instead will be opting for this:
An asymmetrical LED headlamp for the old BMW F800.
My plan is to also make a custom “humpback” seat pan out of wood and do a partial wrap of it in fiberglass.
I’m undecided currently on the tank. The stock one on the XJ already looks pretty good in my opinion.
That’s it for now, I’ll try and keep this updated as the project gets along.
