92 ignition switch connection

Hi all i needed to by a new ignition switch as the P/O took his off and lost it. I ended up buying a new one to suit my bike year and type from ebay.
I have now received it all looks good except for the connector.
The orginal connection only has a 2 pin (2 wires) connecter while the new one has 3 pin (3 wires) connector..
Can i still use the new one if i change the connection and what about the additional wire (blue)
