How to: Test Ignition Pick-up (Pulse) Sensor:
If you are diagnosing a no-spark condition, one of the tests is to verify resistance across the pickup sensor to help rule it out.

Begin by removing the engine side cover and setting the engine to top-dead-center (TDC). The engine is at TDC when the T mark on the rotor, aligned with the | mark on the pickup sensor, as shown in green in the photo below.

Your volt meter should be connected as follows: Red (positive) lead to the white/red wire. Black (negative) lead to the white/green wire. Switch the volt meter over to measure resistance (in ohms) and measure the resistance across the sensor. You should see a value between 304 and 456 ohms at 68F. If it is outside this value, the pickup sensor is bad.
