Ok guys, I pulled the trigger on the unknown "cheap" tire that has been around for a few years and mysteriously doesn't have any in depth reviews on it. I went with the 110/70-17 in front and the 140/70-18 rear (sr740 front and sr741 rear). One of the biggest draws on these is their price, the set came in at $126.94 with shipping from Amazon and eBay(chapperelle for the rear and Amazon for the front...it's just how the funds worked out, I had an Amazon gift card and some money in my PayPal.
For those that don't know, shinko bought out Yokohama's motorcycle tire division with compounds and moulds and all their expertise. I haven't been around motorcycles for about 10 years now but I do remember having a few sets of yokohama's on bikes from the past and they were not low end tires. That being said, I know that today's entry level tires are much better than tires 10-20 years ago. We shall see where these stand!
