Bought this Xj 1 year ago with 17600 miles, in rough shape but running, and sounding pretty strong. I bought it for my son so he could learn to ride and as a project bike for me to tinker with in order to learn a little about bike mx. I have thoroughly enjoyed the bike and all of the little fixes that came with it.

Now, a big thanks to all who have helped with all of my pm questions getting this stuff done.

Here is what we did initially:

Clean Carbs/replace o rings float needle
Carb Sync-motion pro carb sync
Adjust 3 mixture screws, stripped one
Replace manifold rubber boots
Replace airfilter
Replace fuel filter & various fuel hoses
DeRust fuel tank and Seal
Remove front fairing
Replace head light

This season we decided to keep the bike and make it a United States Marine Corp bike for my son who is off to boot camp this fall.
We changed the sprockets and chain(what a difference, did not expect the bike to change that much)
Installed new front and rear break pads
Removed old instrument cluster and replaced with Trail Tech Vapor
We have changed the headlight again painting everything but the engine.

Here is the latest config with some of the plastics off for paint:

Awaiting new tires too. Hope to have completed by May 27th!!!!

I claim nooby ignorance on inserting and posting pics, if you can't see 'em, you are not missing much!
