Hi all, me again :lol:

I've changed the stock 'cockpit' on my 1998 Divvy to a more barebones one. After rewiring the new cockpit, I found out that the neutral light is not working.

Something "not working" is as vague as it can be, so here's the details;

- Bike is on side stand, engine not running, key still in my hand
- The neutral light in the old cockpit is wired by both a brown wire ( +12V) and a Sky Blue colored wire that should be the - negative, according to the wiring diagrams.
- The new cockpit/clock needs just the negative - wire of the neutral indicator light to function. When connected to the Sky Blue wire, the neutral indicator light on the new clock is not working whatsoever
- When the ignition key is 'off', the Sky Blue wire reads 0 V
- When the ignition key is turned on, a relay in the back of the bike can be heard 'clicking', the Sky Blue wire now reads +12 V
- Whether or not the bike is in neutral or kicked in gear (engine still not running), the sky Blue wire constantly reads +12V
- The brown wire also reads +12V
- The neutral switch (just below the front sprocket of the drive chain) is also under load (+12V)

What is going on? So many 'hot' cables. I've been searching for the answer to no avail, hence another post by a XJ-noobie.. :D

Thanks in advance!
