weather sealing the stock gauges

HI guys. I just bought a 1992 XJ600 seca II Diversion. I'm looking to convert it into a naked bike but I will be doing it in stages. I would like to ride the bike throughout most of these stages. From what I was seeing from another thread was that the stock gauge set isn't weather sealed since it is typically covered by a fairing. I live in Portland and it will rain until june. I cant wait that long to ride. :)

What would be some ways to weather seal the gauges?
