Brighter Bulbs For Stock Headlamp

I only saw one or two threads about this. I'm wanting to get a brighter /blue-ish bulb for the front. I've kept my fairing so everything up front is still stock. Has anyone tried different bulbs with success? Or am I going to have to gut the housing & install a projector lamp or two (I like the dual look)? Plus how hard would it be? I am a beginner when it comes to Electric Systems.
