Wow, these things are expensive. I have been reading my Haynes guide on valve shim replacement as I am guessing it has never been done on mine. Winter is a good time to do this, so that might be my next project.

Did you guys all buy a shim kit, or individual shims?

Drapheus, looking forward to that guide.

damn! volvo redblocks use 33mm shims. I have a boatload of them (and so does every junkyard)

I just promised two of the 270s to radare.
I can send you the third though

It will be a few days, I'll have to wait till I get the ones I ordered and install them, but that will probably be early next week.

I have 3 spare shims to swap (with any shim size for XJ owners - standard custard test applies - and for any smaller sizes for anyone else):

2 x 280
1 x 265
