Carrying an expensive Camera with you?

I have a question far all of you that have a DSLR camera, how do you carry the camera with you on your rides? Just before Christmas we bought a new Canon SL1 DSLR and I'm looking forward to taking some pictures this spring/summer/fall while out on the bike. The only thing is I don't know the best way to carry the camera with me. I have a camera bag for it and a good sling strap. I'm just worried about dropping the camera from the bike while riding. Any tips or tricks on you guys take your cameras with you?
