EDIT 2/9/20: Link for the sliders - yeah I know, a wee bit later than when this was originally posted. Still, realized I never put the URL up. Sorry. :)

So, I'm new here. :greeny: Only posted a bit so far, and picked up my '94 Seca II a few weeks ago. Great condition, runs great, bone stock as far as I can tell. It's my first bike - so, naturally, after I got my permit, the next day I went out to ride... and dropped it in the bottom of my driveway. Awesome. Thankfully there's no frame nor motor damage (just a gouged fairing on the outer edge on the right, and a few scratches elsewhere), but obviously frame sliders are a very popular modification.

Except... they're not plentiful for the XJ600 / Seca II, which is pretty much true for a lot of OEM and aftermarket parts, it seems! I researched some, found a few on eBay, checked out a few on the forums here. Some looked good, others not so much. Then I stumbled upon OES Accessories' website.... and they seem to be very well made, and made in the US which is nice for we domestics. :kudos:

Unfortunately, nothing for my bike. But I emailed the owner and lo and behold, he responds (very quickly) that he has access to a Seca II, and can manufacture some. EXCELLENT!

Inside a scant couple of weeks, he'd produced them and shipped them out to me. They arrived yesterday, neatly packaged via USPS and tightly bubble-wrapped:

And here they are! OES allows you to choose the color of the sticker, I went with yellow to match my bike.

The outside of the slider, with the long bolt poking through. OES provides all the hardware, including the bolt and washers, plus a locking nut.

The inside of the slider - here you can see the locking nut and washer:

Not being very patient, I set out to install them today. A quick email to OES told me that the top engine mount bolts come out. One for each side, this pic is looking at the LEFT side of the bike.

Slider installed (I hadn't fully tightened the nut down yet, but you can see the slider installed here):

And now the RIGHT side of the bike, installed:

RIGHT side, looking straight down the bike to give an idea of how much it clears the side of the engine for protection:

And a right side shot of the whole bike. Yes that's my dinged-up fairing, and yes that's a Superman floor mat. :D

Tools:

- 8mm hex-head wrench (ideally a tip for a long socket extension, for the head of the bolt... I didn't have one, so I used a regular 8mm hex key wrench, and braced it with a box wrench when tightening up)

- 17mm socket or wrench (for the lock nut - a ratcheting wrench is VERY useful, since clearance with the headers installed is minimal... a socket head didn't fit, for me)

- 14mm socket or wrench (to remove the OEM engine mount bolt and nut - so ideally you should have one of each, socket and wrench)

OES specified roughly 45 foot-pounds of torque for tightening up, but unfortunately I couldn't get my torque wrench in there. So I made them "good and tight" and if I can get myself an 8mm hex-head socket head/tool, then I should be able to torque down properly on the bolt head (for my torque wrench I need a 1/2" drive)

So, I'm pretty excited and definitely wanted to share. :) Taking my time, this took me about half an hour, and I'm a low-to-intermediate level home mechanic/wrencher.

PRICING: OES is going to likely run an introductory price on them. He (his name is Noah) wanted to see how my install went, and then he'll list a price. I don't want to say how much I paid, since I'm not sure if it will be exactly the same or not. However you can see all the other bikes' offerings here, to get an idea:

Note that he has a dedicated photo and instructions for each type of bike, so I assume it'll be the same for the Seca II.

Can anyone here tell me if all Seca II and XJ600 engine mounts/frame designs are equal? That will determine what he can list on the website. This must be specific!

Thanks - I will keep everyone posted. :)
