buy a jacket online?

I need a jacket. I would prefer leather. There's not too many places locally, so I have been looking online. I'm a little concerned purchasing on the internet because I have no idea what to look for/what will fit. But, the prices are so much better from what I can tell. Any thoughts on buying online versus buying and trying it on in a store?
