Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone has a rear shock that they want to sell? Finding one here in the uk is like looking for Rocking Horse SH*T

You can still get them new. Wemoto sells them, but they cost a fortune.

The way forward seems to be to fit a shock from a different, newer bike. That is, from any suitable bike, after making comparison with the source bike's dry weight (too stiff is no good) and the source bike's rear monoshock length (too long is no good). An ER6 shock is apparently fine, but you will need some washers to put on either side of the mounting holes.

You might look for an FZ6R / 2009+ Diversion rear shock as that's one of the upgrades that seem to work well on our bikes.
1997 Yamaha Seca II - mostly stock, Racetech upgraded forks, FZ6R rear shock, Oxford Sports Style Heated Grips, Barkbusters Blizzard Cold Weather Handguards, a Scottoiler vSystem chain oiler. My Mileage Tracker Page.
