Rear brake pedal question

My workhorse/machine/baby is a
1992 Yamaha XJ600 Diversion UK
I've searched high and low and could not for the life of me find information anywhere.
BASICALLY, I was riding to work today, about to apply some medium pressure to the rear brake pedal to find it's not there... yep you read that right.
I pulled up as safely as I could.
Flipped the side stand down and had a look at wtf has happened.
Well! It appears my Pivot bolt for the rear pedal has decided it no longer wants to be apart of my family and taken a trip somewhere down the road.
My question comes down to this.
Will my sidestand pivot bolt work in place of the missing bolt. (I have a centre-stand... please no pictures, I know they're rare)
If not, any idea what bolt I may need. I've searched on eBay UK and can buy a pre-used bolt which will not arrive until after christmas, I kinda need it asap
