So my new-to-me 1994 had 3,900 miles when bought this spring. Clean looking all around. 4,025 now.

Needs carburetor adjustment- synchronizing and air screws.

Should I worry about checking valve adjust before tackling the carbs?

Thanks all

Yep, check the valves. Should be a matter of maintenance when you get a new bike, regardless of mileage. Then, once done, you'll now its good for a long while.
