It should be possible. You'll have to rewire the signal circuit to provide a common circuit for the hazards. It shouldn't be that difficult; maybe the '98 switch, a relay to toggle the hazard functionality, and connection into the power wires for both side circuits. I'm not certain but a diode may be required to prevent electric flow through the signal relay.

I surfed the web and came out with this solution; schematic with relay and double relay and 2 wires switchImage using the hazard lights system independent from the original flashers circuit. I already bought the necessary relays and swith (not the one in the picture but a better one waterproof) for the job.

best regards

After installing all wires and relays voilá... but somehow it only blinks on one side maybe its a double relay defect or wrong amp. on the double relay, i checked all the connections and i only have power in one wire of the blinkers wires that come out of the relay. Cause i was in a hurry i come out with a more simple solution using the installation i previous made:
original motorcycle blinkers wire schematics Image
My modification with the 3 wire waterproof switch and with original motorcycle relay

This waterproof (i hope, lol) switch has 3 wires not 2: black and blue are positive (weird...) and the brown is the negative and will make your switch button blinks the same way that your bike dashboard do. The downside of this installation is that, it only works if your motorbike blinkers are switched on (left or right) only then your hazard switch works. After i checked all things good i removed the relay and the double relay and i'm using this more simple solution.

ps: schematics taken from http://2allbuyer.com
ps2: i will check the relays for more feedback
ps3: i used two red wires to extend the black and blue positives.

i used the first one but it has 3 wires and it wont work like in the picture cause it use positive wires and not negatives like the one in the schematic. there a lot of switches on ebay just surf on the web. This are just 2 exemples. If you want i'll post the schematic with this switch with the changes you have to do.
