My black/red XJ has tires in the following sizes:

Front: 120/70 R17
Rear: 150/70 R17

And its time for new tires. I'm torn between several tires and could use some opinions. These include:
  • IRC Roadwinner RX-01
    Avon AM26 Roadrunner
    Metzeler Roadtec
    Continental Conti Motion
    Michelin Pilot Road 3
    Michelin Pilot Road 4
Who has experience with what? Opinions?

The Pilot Roads are some of my favorite tires, very good traction and they lasted for quite a while for me.

I've been reading a lot of good reviews on them. Pilot 3's, Casper?

PR2s... They were on sale at the time. I have heard they only got better with the latest generations.

After this set of TKC80s, I will probably get a set of PR4s.

I would go for the PR3s if you are on a budget and PR4s if cost is not an issue for you and z8 if the first two are not avaible...
I got the PR3s for a good deal and been riding them in a bandit 650 in the sun and rain in this tropical country and they help with your confidence in the wet compared to other tyre manufacturers.... the mileage is pretty good...the rear lasted 15k km and the front lasted like 25k km....

You are lucky if you can get 150/70 sizes for PR3, PrR4s and metzeler z8s in your country....They only exported sizes 160/60 and above over here....
and no 150/70s....cheers...

In regards to the ones you've listed, I only have experience with the Metzeler Roadtec Z6 but I will say I've loved this tire. I've been through at least three sets of them on my FJR. (I've also gone through sets of Bridgestone BT-01, BT-02, Dunlop Sportmax and a set of Pirelli somethingorothers...) I love to compare tires and the Metzelers have always felt the best.

(For full disclosure I should add that I've never found a Rocklop, er, Dunlop that I've ever liked. On any bike. And I've tried a lot of them...)

I just got a set of the same Metzelers for the Buell and will be mounting them this weekend.
