From time to time we get a call for help on this frequently broken acorn screw in the float bowl.

Is this something that breaks during a rebuild, or just under regular use? I'm considering a tear down on mine soon and I'm curious if I should have some handy just in case.

Thanks! :type:

It happens when removing or installing the screw which is sometimes necessary to remove the float pin. It's hollow inside and fragile. If you're aware of the problem hopefully you can avoid breaking it.

Man you were right, I was soooo careful and 1 of the 4 still broke on me, oddly enough it was the same carb number as the one in your picture too, lol. Hopefully my local deal may carry one in stock. I doubt it, but it's worth a shot!
