I finally started working on the free bike this past weekend and I'm having trouble getting the gas cap open. The key turns in the tumbler, but the cap won't swing open. I assumed the seal was just stuck from sitting outside for so long (the seat was also a pain to remove because the seat release cable was so gummed up), so I sprayed some WD-40 around the cap to see if that would penetrate the seal. Still no luck. I can press the cap/door down and it springs back to its original position. I also tried removing the whole assembly by taking out the screws but it seems to be held in place near the back. Do you guys know of any good tricks as I'm sure this is somewhat common? :help:
