This is what that pilot fuel screw looks like out of the carb.

No, the pilot jet feeds fuel to three small passages feeding the throat of the carb. One of those passages is the idle fuel and that needle adjusts the flow thru that passage.

oook, well here's where im at. i ordered VM22 #20 mikuni pilots and the shiny one on the left is what i received... note how they don't match up in the least

did i order the wrong jet or did i receive the wrong jet?
and to make matters even weirder, the bike already has a #20 pilot jet installed. (the brown old one has EI20 or something of the sort stamped on it)

Man, Oizarod; I totally typo'd that. The pilot jets are VM28 and not VM22. Can you return them?

That might be a pilot air jet. You definitely received the wrong jet.

thanks :1Oldman: , we discovered the problem was in a typing error... coughRADAREcough cough... :poke:

(just giving you a hard time bud)

turns out if i had ordered the VM28s i still would've wasted 15 bucks cause the bike already has #20 pilots which was what i was ordering. so i'll locate some 22.5s and see how that does me.
