yes I did it I striped out a fork cap like a dummy, anyone have a good source for one are the adjustable ones any good.

Deto found a set on eBay that were adjustable and fit our 38mm forks. As I recall, though, they were quite tall and weren't compatible with handlebars. You'd have to move to clip-ons or adapter risers to provide clearance with your bars.

I have never had a stock handlebar. :/

I don't see why they wouldn't, they are fairly low profile and as long as you aren't at the edge of preload like I am, you will have more clearance.
