Hey everybody. :hello: Very excited to start my own project thread. I've been reading a lot on the site and plan on using the great ideas others have used on their builds. Here's a list of things I want to do to my XJ:

Bodywork / Aesthetics
Remove dents from tank
Tank doesn't sit right on frame
Repair fairings and replace mounting hardware
Paint fairings (still narrowing color choices)
Paint wheels
Paint exhaust
R6 controls swap
Seat reupholster

Mechanical
Fix hard starting issues in the mornings
Repair oil leak
Degrease bike
Replace rear tire
Adjust chain slack or replace chain

What a list!

I want to start off with the fuel tank. It was held on with a zip tie when I bought it so I know I am missing hardware but the front of the tank and the rear never sit flush with the frame at the same time. The carbs and the air box do not completely fit into the hollow underside of the tank. You guys know how it's supposed to look. Can you tell me what I am missing. The edge of the carb is hitting the lip of the tank.

This is how high the front sits with the seat on.
